– HERE'S THE DEAL –
Hiring a wedding photographer is a big deal, and I'd like to be yours. You're putting a ton of trust in the person with the camera to capture all of the moments and people that are important to you on the most important day of your life and I selfishly want you to have beautiful photos. It's a massive responsibility capturing moments that you'll one day be sharing with your children's children, so near or far, let's make photos!
MEGAN & GRAHAM
Ben is the absolute best. We were married in the mountains of Vermont and HAD to have him (have you seen his work?!) and luckily he was willing to travel! Ben was so much fun to work with. During our engagement shoot, he alternated between being invisible and giving directives for the best pictures. He made us feel comfortable and natural. We were hesitant to do a first look, but are SO glad we did!! We got amazing photos and weren't rushed to finish during "cocktail hour". Plus, that first moment shared between us was so much more comfortable and natural than if it had taken place in front of a crowd. During the wedding itself, Ben was everywhere at every moment. He didn't seem to miss a moment and never stopped working. He blended into the wedding seamlessly. I cannot recommend Benjamin Hewitt Photography enough. Working with Ben is truly a joy and just SO much fun!! His eye for photography is amazing. Thank you, Ben!!
HOLLY & CALEB
Having Ben photograph our wedding really was such a highlight for our entire day! Not only is he crazy talented and creates absolutely beautiful work, but he makes the whole experience something so memorable and fun. We both truly treasured the time we spent working with him and could not be more satisfied with choosing him to be our wedding photographer. If you're looking for someone who goes above and beyond to make sure they capture all the special moments of your big day, then look no further. I promise you will be more than satisfied! :)
OLIVIA & JEFF
Ben did a great job capturing the exact feel we wanted for our wedding. Other people even commented on how he was always looking ahead and scoping out the area to see what would look best. He was flexible with uncertain weather and tricky locations (i.e. the side of a mountain) and never felt "in the way." Ben is an artist, and that really comes through in his photos, but is also very professional and trustworthy. Way to go Benjamin Hewitt Photography!
NATALIA & JOSH
My girlfriend and I got our pictures taken by Ben in California, Big Sur. He made us feel so comfortable and we became friends within the minute which made the experience so much fun. Working with him and seeing how creative he is really made us appreciate photography. After our pictures were ready, he professionally sent us an email with our gorgeous pictures (there was not one we didn't like), and then also offers prints delivered to your doorstep. We would recommend him to anyone and hope to have the pleasure to work with him again.
+ How do we book you?
Easy. First things first, get in touch to see if your date is available! If we're in the clear, we'll work together on figuring out which Collection fits you and your day. A 50% retainer and signed contract confirms your date, and the remaining balance is due on/before event date. (Before is always preferred and recommended, because let's be real; you don't need one more thing to worry about on your wedding day.)
+ What payment methods to you accept?
Call me old school, but I only accept payment in the form of a check. (And cash, of course.)
+ What are your prices?
Wedding coverage starts at $2,495, most couples spend between $3,200 and $4,000 on their Wedding Collection. Send me an email and let's talk about the rest. All other sessions start at $350.
+ Do you travel?
I do! I arrange the travel details (flight, stay, rental car) and provide a quote with travel included so you know exactly how much it'll be.
I've photographed couples in:
- Page, Arizona (Horseshoe Bend)
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Harbour Island, Bahamas
- San Francisco, California
- Big Sur, California (Pfeiffer Beach)
- Trinidad, California
- Brooklyn, New York
- Manhattan, New York City
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Traverse City, Michigan
Passport is current.
+ Do you have insurance?
Yep! Some venues require liability insurance, so if you've booked your venue already and they've asked you about it, I'll connect with them and get them what they need.
+ Do you offer Engagement Sessions?
Yes! Engagement Sessions are more like hang out sessions. They give you the opportunity to get comfortable being in front of my camera, and they give me the opportunity to get to know you better. It's always best to not have a complete stranger taking your photos on your wedding day, am I right?
+ Do you offer Wedding Albums?
I do! It's a collaborative effort! I'm a firm believer in having something tangible To Have & To Hold from your wedding day. You can find more information on Wedding Albums > HERE> .
+ Can we order Prints through you?
You sure can, and I encourage it! Your wedding photos deserve professional quality printing. I use WHCC for prints and I've ordered my own to make sure you're getting the best quality to hang in your home. (I offer framed prints too, less headache on your end.)
+ What is a "First Look"?
This is your moment. In a nutshell, a "First Look" is a special moment for you and your betrothed to see one another before your ceremony. It is a very intimate time and gives you two a quiet moment together before your day starts. Doing a First Look adds more time to your day, and in turn adds more time to be photographed. More time to focus on gorgeous bridal portraits and stunning images of the two of you.
+ What is a "Pre-Wedding Session"?
A Pre-Wedding Session (aka "Asian Pre Wedding") is a combination of a First Look and the Formal Session on your wedding day, captured a few days before your actual wedding day. We'd pick a day and you get ready and all done-up, we go to a rad location, and spend a few hours making photos. This equates to less stress on your wedding day and more time for you to spend with your loved ones, and also loads of awesome photos of you and your bae. I love these and wish more couples would consider them, they're a ton of fun and we get to capture images that we otherwise wouldn't get on a typical wedding day.
+ What is "Golden Hour"?
Golden Hour is the hour(ish) of time right before the sun goes down, when the lighting is at it's best for making portraits. It's when I prefer to either pull the Bride and Groom out for a breather during their reception to make more photos, or help plan the timeline accordingly so that this is when you have your session (after the ceremony/during cocktail hour).
+ What is an "Unplugged Wedding"?
I could go into great detail here. This article pretty much sums it up.
+ Do you only photograph weddings?
Nope! Although the majority of my work is weddings, I still shoot portraits, high school seniors, lifestyle sessions, and family sessions throughout the week. Get in touch and LET'S MAKE PHOTOS.
+ When do we get to see our photos, and how do we get them?
Typical turn around time for weddings is 6-8 weeks, all other sessions are 3-4 weeks. Your images are delivered in hi-res through a personalized online photo gallery. From there you can download your images directly to your computer or smartphone, as well as order prints/canvases right from your gallery. You can also share your gallery with friends and family by sending them the website link. You'll be provided with a password and download code upon delivery so your images are nice and secure. Albums, prints, and framed prints are excluded from this timeframe.
