Hiring a wedding photographer is a big deal, and I'd like to be yours. You're putting a ton of trust in the person with the camera to capture all of the moments and people that are important to you on the most important day of your life and I selfishly want you to have beautiful photos. It's a massive responsibility capturing moments that you'll one day be sharing with your children's children, so near or far, let's make photos!
"Ben was perfect to work with from the beginning. We aren't "picture people" and were worried about being awkward, but Ben captured us perfectly in both the engagement and wedding pictures and we felt comfortable with him. Both sets came out better than we could have hoped. Looking through our wedding pictures is like reliving the events of the day. The way he captured the excitement and love of our wedding is incredible. We have only heard amazing comments from people regarding our pictures. We will definitely be using Ben in the future!"

"Having Ben photograph our wedding really was such a highlight for our entire day! Not only is he crazy talented and creates absolutely beautiful work, but he makes the whole experience something so memorable and fun. We both truly treasured the time we spent working with him and could not be more satisfied with choosing him to be our wedding photographer. If you're looking for someone who goes above and beyond to make sure they capture all the special moments of your big day, then look no further. I promise you will be more than satisfied! :)"

"Choosing Ben for our wedding was the best decision we could've made. His level of professionalism with of the emails, calls, and meetings was outstanding. He was so organized, and his artistic ability helped me to figure out what I wanted for my wedding, without me having to even say it. On my wedding day he showed up and was 100% dedicated to capturing every single special moment. One of my favorite pictures he took was of a drawing my daughter made, that was sitting on the bed of our hotel room. I was so wrapped up in getting ready I didn't realize she had even made a picture for me. It was the little things like that, where I feel Benjamin Hewitt Photography is different than anyone else. Every one of my guests were amazed at how many pictures he was taking of the wedding day. He really captured the emotions of my special day. Thanks Ben, your pictures were phenomenal."

"My husband, bridal party, and family and I do not have enough positive things to say about Benjamin Hewitt Photography. Ben is so fun and you can feel the passion that he has to provide beautiful pictures for you and your event. Throughout the day he kept us laughing, having fun, keeping to schedule, while also slowing down and enjoying the little moments of the day. He knows what works, wants you to be happy and does his best to get all of the pictures you want, how you want them. Our first meeting was awesome, he asked about my then fiancé and I's love story and future plans, just wanting to know more about us. I really feel like that short time frame a few months before the wedding, allowed him to know us better and capture our love in a more personal way, even though we had just met him! He was responsive, understanding and helpful throughout the entire planning process. I would do my whole wedding day over again just to have Ben take pictures, it was so much fun! Thank you for capturing our day, Ben!"

Hi! I'm Ben.
I'm a Wedding Photographer living in Tampa, Florida. I started making photos nearly 11 years ago, mostly for fun. I was fascinated with the concept of capturing and keeping moments in time and turning them into something beautiful. In college I learned to shoot 35mm and Medium Format film, which is where my real love for photography began. My career in photography started 5 years ago when a friend insisted that I photograph his wedding, and the rest.. well, you know.
I'm married to the girl of my dreams and we have 2 little girls, Avery and Lorelai. I'm an amateur BBQ master. I love golf more than I'm good at it (which, from the sounds of it, might be the case for ever). And I love donuts and coffee a lot (probably more than I should).
I make photos for a living and I'm thankful for every minute of it. Your story and your love is what I desire to capture with my camera.
I take documenting your love seriously and consider it a high honor that you're letting me into your life and trusting me to document such a special time. With an artistic approach, I dance back and forth between playing the background and creating moments without you even noticing. I hunt for good light to photograph you in and create an atmosphere where it feels natural that you're nose-kissing in front of my camera.

Q & A
Easy. First things first, get in touch to see if your date is available! If we're in the clear, I'll send over a quote for the Collection that fits you and your day. A 50% retainer and signed contract confirms your date, and the remaining balance is due on/before event date. (Before is always preferred and recommended, because let's be real; you don't need one more thing to worry about on your wedding day.)
Call me old school, but I only accept payment in the form of a check. (And cash, of course.)
Wedding coverage starts at $2,495, most couples spend between $3,200 and $4,000 on their Wedding Collection. Send me an email and let's talk about the rest. All other sessions start at $350.

Yep! Some venues require liability insurance, so if you've booked your venue already and they've asked you about it, I'll connect with them and get them what they need.
Yes! Engagement Sessions are more like hang out sessions. They give you the opportunity to get comfortable being in front of my camera, and they give me the opportunity to get to know you better. It's always best to not have a complete stranger taking your photos on your wedding day, am I right?
I do! It's a collaborative effort! I'm a firm believer in having something tangible To Have & To Hold from your wedding day. You can find more information on Wedding Albums HERE.
You sure can, and I encourage it! Your wedding photos deserve professional quality printing. I use WHCC for prints and I've ordered my own to make sure you're getting the best quality to hang in your home. (I offer framed prints too, less headache on your end.)
This is your moment. In a nutshell, a "First Look" is a special moment for you and your betrothed to see one another before your ceremony. It is a very intimate time and gives you two a quiet moment together before your day starts. Doing a First Look adds more time to your day, and in turn adds more time to be photographed. More time to focus on gorgeous bridal portraits and stunning images of the two of you.
A Pre-Wedding Session (aka "Asian Pre Wedding") is a combination of a First Look and the Formal Session on your wedding day, captured a few days before your actual wedding day. We'd pick a day and you get ready and all done-up, we go to a rad location, and spend a few hours making photos. This equates to less stress on your wedding day and more time for you to spend with your loved ones, and also loads of awesome photos of you and your bae. I love these and wish more couples would consider them, they're a ton of fun and we get to capture images that we otherwise wouldn't get on a typical wedding day.
Golden Hour is the hour(ish) of time right before the sun goes down, when the lighting is at it's best for making portraits. It's when I prefer to either pull the Bride and Groom out for a breather during their reception to make more photos, or help plan the timeline accordingly so that this is when you have your session (after the ceremony/during cocktail hour).
I could go into great detail here. This article pretty much sums it up.
Nope! Although the majority of my work is weddings, I still shoot portraits, high school seniors, lifestyle sessions, and family sessions throughout the week. Get in touch and LET'S MAKE PHOTOS.
Typical turn around time for weddings is 6-8 weeks, all other sessions are 3-4 weeks. Your images are delivered in hi-res through a personalized online photo gallery. From there you can download your images directly to your computer or smartphone, as well as order prints/canvases right from your gallery. You can also share your gallery with friends and family by sending them the website link. You'll be provided with a password and download code upon delivery so your images are nice and secure. Albums, prints, and framed prints are excluded from this timeframe.
No worries! Let's talk.
